The Problem: It seems as though God has forsaken America and many of the churches in America. And why wouldn’t He? It looks like America, and many Christians and Churches, have forsaken Him. Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. The Solution: According to 2 Chronicles 7.14: if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Our Part: On Saturday evening, April 30, the church is being called together to pray after fasting for a day (24 hours). To call a sacred assembly is a biblical concept. Many times in the history of Israel, God has commanded the church to gather together for the sole purpose of repentance and confession through public prayer. Please read these scriptures in their context: Joel 1.14-16; 2.13-17; Psalm 139:23-24; Leviticus 23.36; 2 Chronicles 20.4; Jeremiah 36.9; Nehemiah 1.5-11. There are so many more scriptures that call for congregational repentance, fasting and prayer! “It is my evaluation that sins of thought, attitude, speech, relationship, commission, omission, and pride have resulted in grieving the Holy Spirit of God. God will not begin to move again in presence and in power until these sins are confessed and abandoned.” Dr. Chuck Terrill
