Children’s Ministries has some very exciting news. The Valley Center Parent’s Day Out program is now being hosted at VCCC. We couldn’t be more excited! We think our beautiful building will serve them well. What is Parent’s Day Out (PDO)? PDO is an outreach ministry that is designed to serve stay-at-home parents and grandparents by providing a safe and loving environment for children birth through age 5. The program operates every Friday from 9:30-1:30 during the school year. Children are dropped off at PDO where they have playtime, story time, crafts, songs, and snacks. The children also bring sack lunches and eat together as a group. There is one director and 10 teachers serving 5 classes of 58 children. This is not a business. There’s no aim to make a profit. The director, Amy Rose, has a heart for children and believes that by ministering to these children, she is ministering to their parents - allowing them time to refresh and be even better parents to their children. VCCC has spruced up some classrooms, added kid-szied tables and chairs, bulleting boards, cabinets, coat hooks and all the necessary things to make sure the rooms are great classrooms for the kids. We've also added a fenced in playground with some fantastic playground equipment kids will love! But even more important that the physical preparations - we are opening up our hearts to these children. We know that Jesus calls us to love His children. So we’re going to love them even when they make messes, or put a few scratches on the walls, or make a few spills. We’re also praying for the program, teachers, children and families involved. This is a wonderful opportunity to open our church up to many families in our community.
