The global film event of the year is coming to Valley Center with a special screening of “58: The Film” at Valley Center Christian Church on November 3 at 7:00 PM.
“58: The Film” is the inspiring true story of the global church in action as it strives to eradicate extreme poverty and create stunning new possibilities for the future. In partnership with some of the world’s largest and most active social justice organizations, the 58: Initiative is challenging the assumption that the poor will always be with us and that nothing can be done to make poverty history.
The 58: Initiative is a Christ-centered global initiative to end extreme poverty. The name comes from Isaiah 58 where God desires that His people carry out a True Fast, one that cares for the poor and oppressed. “58: The Film” will demonstrate how the global church is caring for the poor and the oppressed across the world and what individuals can do to end extreme poverty.
